Atwima-Mponua takes delivery of free school uniforms

Nyinahin (Ash) Aug 16, GNA – The Atwima-Mponua District has taken delivery of 5,000 school uniforms and a large quantity of exercise books for free distribution to school children in the area.

Mrs Theresa Adomako Tawiah, the District Chief Executive, handed them over to the District Education Director at a ceremony held at Nyinahin.

She said this was part of the 93Better Ghana” agenda promised by the Mills Administration.

The government, she said, would go to every length to make quality education accessible to every Ghanaian child.

It was on the basis of this that the school feeding programme was being expanded and the capitation grant raised.

Mrs Adomako-Tawiah encouraged the teachers to be more committed to their profession and work hard to improve on the academic performance of the pupils and students.

Parents should also accept to do their bit by providing the children with their basic needs.

Nii Amon Kotei, the Education Director, pledged to ensure that the school uniforms went to the poor and deprived.
