Atta Mills can make the difference

Jacobu (Ash), Aug. 12, GNA- The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Odotobri Constituency in the Amansie East District of Ashanti, Mr George Adu-Mensah said on Thursday that Professor J.E.A. Mills, the Party’s Flag Bearer could make the difference in the country’s socio-economic development when voted to power.

“We need to build capacity for self-reliance as a nation and that is where Prof. Atta Mills will make the difference”, he said. Mr Adu-Mensah, a former District Chief Executive for Adansi West, was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Jacobu after he was endorsed by acclamation to lead the party in the constituency to contest election 2004.

He explained that Prof Atta Mills during his tenure of office, as the Vice President was instrumental in coming out with the Value Added Tax (VAT), Export Development and Investment Fund (EDIF) and the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).

Mr Adu-Mensah observed that the Odotobri Constituency saw development during his time as the Member of Parliament, adding: “Most of the communities are still not connected to the national grid while, most schools need infrastructure improvement”.
