Atta Dadzie wins NPP primaries in Cape Coast

A Cape Coast based legal practitioner, Mr Michael Arthur Dadzie has won the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries in Cape Coast South constituency in the Central Region.

He polled 258 votes to beat the party’s 2012 parliamentary candidate, Mr Alfred Thompson, a businessman who garnered 61 votes and Mr Perry Mensah, a business consultant who polled 140 votes.

In his victory statement Mr Arthur Dadzie commended the delegates for their comportment towards a successful election and pledged to work with all to take the Cape Coat South seat from the ruling National Democratic Congress( NDC).

He described his victory as a victory for the NPP party and urged all party faithful not to be complacent but to work tirelessly as the task ahead in 2016 is not easy.

The other aspirants promised to use their resources to support the winner to help the party wrestle power from the NDC.

At the Cape Coast North Constituency, Mrs Barbara Asher Ayisi, a tutor at the Wesley Girls Senior High School won with 139 votes, beating the other contestants including the 2012 candidate Mrs Henrietta Abane who polled 130 votes.

She pledged to work with all the party executives and the other aspirants to win 2016 elections to annex more seats for the party.

At the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem Constituency, Dr Ato Arthur, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) got the nod by popular acclamation.

Abena Mensah polled 285 to win at the Assin North Constituency while Nana Eyiah Quansah also polled 157 to win at Assin South.

Bright Wereku Brobbey won at Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira with 206 votes.

In the Upper Denkyira East Constituency, Nana Amoako, the incumbent MP beat four other contestants with 149 votes.
