Assin District asked to step up revenue mobilisation

Assin Nsuaem-Kyekyewere, June 11, GNA- Mr Anthony K. Arthur, Presiding Member of the Assin South District Assembly, has expressed the need for the assembly to expand its revenue base to be able to initiate more development projects. He said the move would reduce the assembly’s over dependence on the Government and donor organisations.

Mr Arthur who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview said a five- man task force had been put in place to oversee the performance of revenue collectors and to ensure that people honour their tax obligations. He called for public cooperation to facilitate the work of the taskforce.

Mr Peter Antwi-Boasiako, District Coordinating Director, called on communities under taking the European Union micro projects to speed up to meet the dead line on June 20. He said defaulters would not be considered for the next phase of the project.
