Assembly members want Police commander transferred

Assembly members of Builsa North District in the Upper East Region are demanding the transfer of their district Police commander.

Their clamour comes on the heels of frequent robbery attacks on market women, especially on market days.

According to the assembly, DSP Isaac Tetteh has failed to provide protection for residents in the two districts.

Radio XYZ’s Upper Regional correspondent, Musah Lansah Al-Hassan said a robbery incident Monday led to the death of one person in Builsa South.

Meanwhile, DSP Isaac Tetteh says he is ready to leave the region if the IGP makes an order.

He told XYZ News that the agitation of the assembly members is grounded on ignorance of security work.

“If they want a transfer, so be it but we are doing our best. What do they know about security matters I am prepared to leave the place, they can petition the IGP after all you are not supposed to be at one place”.
