Assemblies of God supports Tarkwa Prison

The Men’s Fellowship of the Assemblies of God Church, A.B.A Green Compound chapter, has presented assorted items for the upkeep of inmates at the Tarkwa Local Prison in the Western Region.

The items included toothpaste and tooth brushes, toilet rolls, bags of gari, sugar, sachet water and used clothing valued at GHc 800.00.

The President of the Fellowship, Mr Amamo Otoo, said the donation fell in line with God’s call to Christians to assist the needy in society.

He encouraged the inmates to remain united, comport themselves and come transformed to integrate into society after serving their sentence.

Mr Otoo reminded them to ensure that they did not commit the same offence that brought them to prison but rather depart from every negative attitude and set good examples.

Deputy Superintendent of Prison (DSP) Emmanuel Azafokpe, Second in Command at the Tarkwa Local Prison, expressed appreciation to the church for the gesture.
