Aspiring assembly members advised

Kasapin (B/A), Aug. 11, GNA – Nana Opunuawisie Wiredu-Brempong, chief of Kasapin in Asunafo North of Brong Ahafo, has advised candidates in the forthcoming district assembly elections in the area to respect and tolerate the views of one another.

He said the area needed absolute peace for development and urged them to avoid provocative acts.

Nana Wiredu-Brempong, Senior Assistant Registrar of the Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, made the call when two female aspirants introduced themselves to him at the end of the Kwasidae festival of the chiefs and people of Kasapin.

They are Madam Theresa Ahenkan and Madam Francisca Ansere. Nana Wiredu-Brempong asked them to undertake decent campaigns and to tell the people what they could do to help solve the area’s socio-economic problems.

He asked them to educate their supporters and the electorate on their manifestoes and programmes and to desist from casting insinuations and insults against one another.

The chief urged the people to unite and to help undertake more development projects to improve the image of the town. Nana Wiredu-Brempong urged parents to attach importance to the education of their children by taking advantage of the government’s capitation grant and enrol them in schools.

The aspiring assemblywomen pledged to undertake campaigns free from insults and casting of insinuations or the use of abusive language. They also pledged that they would do their best to serve the people diligently when voted.
