The Okogyeaman Tete Kwame Awuku Nyarko, Asona Clan of Ahwerase Akuapem led by Abusuapanyin Kwadwo Ofori Gyan, Aberewatea GyanKomah and their elders from the four Asona Houses have destooled two sub-chiefs over violation of their coronation Oath. Okogyeaman Krodua II and Ama Sakyeabea Dede Mpoah III who served as Mankrado and Ohemmea respectively.
Addressing the media in their palace, the spokesperson for the family, Odehye Kwaku Gyan stressed that, these two individuals are in loggerheads with the family heads. According to him, these individuals pay homage to another clan whiles neglecting their clan. In order for peace to ruin and seize continuous disgrace to the family, they performed rituals to bear witness of their destoolment.
Following the destoolment of Mankrado and Ohemmea, the family accused them on 23 offences committed by the two individuals.
- Violation of their coronation OATH.
- Failure to honor several invitations by Abusuapanyin, Mmerewatea and entire Asona family.
- Failure to communicate with the family head.
- Broken into the stool house (Nkonwadammu) and left it unattended.
- For withdrawing GHc50,000.00 from the family’s Bank Account and shared among themselves without the family’s consent.
- Failed to support the family to pay fined imposed on them by Okuapeman.
- Disrespecting Okuapemhene for refusing to pay an amount he asked to be paid.
- Handing over the Asona clan to the Asakyiri clan.
- Failure to attend Awukudae on six consecutive occasions.
- Violating Okuapemhene’s order for not attending programs until fined paid.
- They designed a a new letterhead for dubious activities.
- Failing to attend family meetings
- Failure to funerals and perform their traditional duties.
- Failure to attend Ahenemahemea’s funeral.
- Disrespecting family elders.
- For creating new positions in the family without the rightful family structure.
- Claiming of family lands.
- They claimed they have suspended the family head and elders of the family.
- They created confusion in the palace.
- Accusing elders of the family of assaults.
- Introducing another clan’s elder as the new family head of Asona Clan.
- Failure to perform their duties in their palace but perform in another palace.
- They have conveyed their stools from Okogyeaman palace.
Therefore, the two individuals do not hold the title to their former positions in Okogyeaman Tete Kwame Awuku Nyarko, Asona clan of Ahwerase Akuapem anymore, and henceforth, they have been reverted to their original names. Mankrado Okogyeaman Krodua II will be called Kwame Kwakye Aninakwa whiles Ohemmea Ama Sakyeabea Dede Mpoah III will be called Ophilia Ama Otoo.
