Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa to promote regenerative health

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Feb.10, GNA – The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Assembly is collaborating with the Ministry of Health (MOH) to promote regenerative health and nutrition in the district. This is to promote healthy lifestyles with emphasis on consumption of fruits and regular exercise.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Area, Mr Emmanuel Doomson, told the Ghana News Agency at Breman Asikuma, that the Assembly was working closely with the Ghana Education Service and the MOH to organize educational campaigns on the programme.

He said to further make health care more accessible to the people and also to address the shortfall of health workers in the district, five nurses, a medical student and four health aids would be sponsored to study in various health training institutions so that on completion of their courses, they would come back to work in the district. According to the DCE, the Assembly last year sponsored eight school leavers from the district at a cost of 48 million cedis to be trained as health aides by the Ministry of Health at the Ankaful Nurses Training College.
