Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Assembly ends sitting

Breman Asikuma(C/R), Sept. 05, GNA 96 Members of the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Assembly after a lengthy discussion at its last meeting at Breman Asikuma agreed to accept one million cedis as ex-gratia award after their four years service. They agreed on the amount after Mr Emmanuel Adjei Domson, District Chief Executive had pleaded with them to accept the amount in view of the poor financial position of the assembly.

The government proposed the payment of between one and two million cedis to members of Metropolitan, Municipal and Districts Assemblies depending on its financial position. Mr Domson commended the members for their hard work and dedication to duty that enabled the assembly to undertake some development projects.

He announced that many investors had expressed interest to invest in the area and appealed to land owners and chiefs to make land acquisition easier for them to facilitate development of the district. The DCE appealed to the electorates to participate in the September 12 District Level Elections. The assembly members were presented with certificates of honour. 05 Sept. 06
