Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa constituency NDC postpones election

Breman Asikuma, (C/R), Nov. 17 GNA- The National Executives of the National Democratic congress (NDC) has postponed indefinitely the election of a parliamentary candidate in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa constituency to contest on the ticket of the party in the 2008 elections to enable a last minute misunderstanding among the constituency executives to be settled.

The election, which is to take place on Saturday, Nov. 17 would be between Madam Georgina Nkrumah Aboah, a Tema based educationist and Mr. Anthony Robert Frimpong, a private legal practitioner.

Mr Samuel Aidoo, Constituency Chairman who disclosed this on Friday to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Breman Asikuma said the National and Regional executives would settle the misunderstanding on Sunday, Nov. 18 and fix a new dates for the election. He said a total of 230 delegates from 96 polling stations in the constituency would be expected to cast their votes.

Mr. Aidoo appealed to members and supporters of the party to cooperate with the executives to ensure smooth settlement of the indifferences.
