Asiedu Nketia’s attitude shows NDC gov’t is joking – Mensah Korsah

The attitude of Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary of the ruling NDC, shows that they are joking in government, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah has said.

The Director of Elections for the opposition New Patriotic Party’s comments come on the heels of an interview Johnson Asiedu Nketiah granted Kwame Tutu on Rainbow radio’s frontline on Tuesday, blaming the elephant family for the ‘goof’ the Interior Minister made in his statement over the relationship between the EC and SuperLocks Technologies Limited (STL).

Johnson Asiedu Nketiah described the NPP as someone posing like a masquerade denying their knowledge of the role of STL during the 2012 elections.

He lambasted the NPP of deceiving Ghanaians over STL’s role because they [NPP] are aware that the EC through Transparent International Competitive Bidding contracted STL to provide technological support in preparing the biometric register and not to transmit the results as speculated by the NPP.

But Mr. Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, responding to Johnson Asiedu Nketia’s statement, described him as an adult who speaks like someone who “lacks wisdom” and a toddler.

Throwing salvos at the former legislator, the Director of Elections for the NPP said he feels sad that a former minister of state could make such unguarded statements.

He questioned if indeed Johnson Asiedu Nketiah is truly an adult because he [Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah] does not see him as one. Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah further questioned if the NPP held Prosper Bani at gun or knife point when writing the statement to confirm that STL was contracted to transmit the 2012 elections results.

He emphasised that the attitude of the General Secretary of the NDC shows clearly that the NDC is joking in government and taking Ghanaians for granted.

He said the Interior Minister, Prosper Bani, is not a Senior High School leaver or an ordinary person, but someone with a lot experience not expected to make such a goof as the NDC want Ghanaians to know.

Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah failed to retract his description of Johnson Asiedu Nketiah as “someone who lacks wisdom”, claiming that he [Asiedu Nketiah] had described Nana Addo as such in the past hence, he saw nothing wrong with what he said.

“I will not retract or embellish my statement anywhere because it is legitimate for me to say that, Asiedu Nketiah speaks like a toddler,” he said.
