Asiedu Nketia Urges NDC Members to Stay United, Promises More Appointments Soon

National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has called on party supporters to remain calm and united as President John Dramani Mahama’s government gradually settles and creates more opportunities for political appointments.

Speaking at a meeting with branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, former party officials, cadres, and Assembly members in the Asuogyaman Constituency, Mr. Asiedu Nketia reassured supporters that their patience will soon be rewarded.

“If we do what we want with the positions we have gotten, our party will be divided like the NPP’s. But I know that will never happen,” he said.

The NDC Chairman was in the Eastern Region as part of a three-day “Thank You Tour” following the party’s electoral victory.

Addressing concerns from members who have not yet received appointments, Mr. Asiedu Nketia appealed for understanding, explaining that party leadership is working to ensure that all loyal members have the opportunity to serve.

He also warned against internal strife, using the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as an example to avoid.

“What NPP is now doing is a contest to hell. The flagbearer aspirants are criticising each other and are enumerating the sins and faults of each other,” he stated.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia stressed that unity and discipline were crucial to sustaining the NDC’s momentum and avoiding the kind of divisions he says are plaguing the NPP.
