Ashanti Regional Police looking for 12 suspects

Kumasi, Dec 14, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Police Command is looking for 12 people suspected to have played a leading role in the murder of Nana Badu Boakye Dankwa III, a family chief of Atwima-Mim near Abuakwa in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District on Tuesday. Assistant Commissioner of Police Frank Adu-Poku, the Regional Police Commander, did not mention the suspects name but gave the assurance that his outfit had closed in on the suspects and would soon apprehend them. “We are optimistic t o flush out these suspects and get to the bottom of the mysterious circumstances that led to the murder of Nana Dankwa”, he told the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi on Wednesday. Following the incident most residents have deserted the town for fear of being picked up by the police. Mr Adu-Poku called on residents of the town to return home and gave an assurance that the police had stepped up security in the town to ensure the protection of life and property. He also appealed to the deceased’s family to exercise restraint whiles police investigate the incident. 14 Dec 06
