Ashanti Region records highest number of voter turn-out

Ashanti Region recorded voter turn-out of 84.90 per cent the highest nationwide whilst Upper East Region recorded the lowest with 75.67 per cent, Electoral Commission (EC) statistics made available to the Ghana News Agency indicates.

Brong Ahafo Region recorded the second highest voter turnout with 81.07 per cent, third Upper West Region 80.79 per cent turnout, fourth Eastern Region with 80.73 per cent and the Northern Region fifth with 79.54 per cent.

The Central Region placed sixth with a turnout of 78.28 per cent; whilst Greater Accra placed seven with a turnout of 77.12 per cent; the Western Region , eight with 76.46 per cent; and the Volta Region nine with 75.74 per cent.

The national voter turnout was 79.43 per cent.

The Constituency voter turnout also indicates that Kumawu in the Ashanti Region recorded the highest voter turnout with 88.80 per cent whilst Sekyere Afram Plains recorded the lowest turnout with 77.34 per cent.

In the Brong Ahafo Region, Asunafo South recorded the highest voter turnout with 87.80 per cent whilst Jaman North recorded the lowest with 74.39 per cent.

The statistical data also indicates that in the Central Region Agona East recorded the highest turnout with 83.17 per cent whilst Awutu Senya East recorded the lowest with 72.92 per cent.

Akwatia recorded the highest turnout with 86.06 per cent whilst the Afram Plains North recorded the lowest with 72.01 per cent.

In the Greater Accra Region Sege recorded the highest voter turnout with 80.48 per cent whilst Domeabra /Obom recorded the lowest with 67.25 per cent turnout.

In the Northern region Nanton recorded the highest with 89.80 per cent whilst Sawla Tuna Kalba recorded 63.36 per cent as the lowest voter turnout.

Bolgatanga East Constituency in the Upper East Region recorded the highest voter turnout with 81.68 per cent whilst Nabdam recorded the lowest with 67.64 per cent.

In the Upper West region, Nandom recorded the highest voter turnout with 86.05 per cent whilst the Wa West recorded 73.43 per cent as the lowest; and in the Volta region Krachi Nchumuru recorded the highest voter turnout with 82.19 per cent whilst Buem recorded the lowest with 69.78 per cent.

Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency in the Western region recorded the highest voter turnout 86.92 per cent whilst Jomoro recorded the lowest turnout with 66.53 per cent.
