Ashanti NPP Supporters Angry With Akufo-Addo

Many New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters in the Ashanti Region are disillusioned, as regards the lack of respect shown towards them by their flagbearer, Mr. Williams Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Intelligence picked up by The Informer, indicates that the aggrieved supporters hold the view, that in the selection of Akufo-Addo’s running mate, the leading members of the NPP in the Ashanti Region, submitted, as their first choice, the Lepowura, Alhaji Mohamed Nuhu Dini Jawula, instead of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
They contend that, Akufo-Addo chose Dr. Bawumia because the Akyem cabal, made up of Ken Ofori-Atta, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko and others, had wanted their preferred choice, Dr. Bawumia, to be selected, so they can manipulate him.
The Informer also picks up signals that the foul-mouthed opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North constituency, Hon. Kennedy Akompreko Ohene Agyapong’s statement that Ashantis should beat up Ewes and Ga –Dangmes in the Ashanti Region, was part of Akufo-Addo’s tribal politics’ agenda against the Ashanti Region.
According to them, that explains why Akufo-Addo never criticized Kennedy Agyapong, for his war-mongering and tribal statement.
These pained NPP supporters, have also hinted that, many of the delegates in Ashanti Region were Akyems, and that was why they ended up voting massively for Akufo-Addo to become the flagbearer, as against the region’s choice, John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, who lost miserably in the Ashanti Region.
