Asantehene’s Foundation fetes hundreds of orphans

The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Charity Foundation, acting in concert with the Serwaa Ampem AIDS Foundation for Children (SAAFC), had feted hundreds of orphans from across the Ashanti Region at a Christmas party.

The kids, drawn from five orphanages – Kumasi Children’s Home, King Jesus, All Nations, Rhema and Chaurubs, were treated to sumptuous meals, assorted fruit drinks and presented with gifts.

They had a lot of fun as they engaged in different games.

Lady Julia Osei Tutu, wife of the Asantehene and Founder of SAAFC, said the goal was to give the children the sense of belonging.

She gave the assurance that her Foundation would continue to play a lead role in efforts at providing protection and support to children, especially the socially disadvantaged.

Their situation should never be allowed to become a barrier, she said, and urged them to dream big and work hard to live their dreams.

She told them that with hard work and self-discipline, the future could only look bright for them.

Mr Kwame Owusu Kwateng, Programmes Manager, SAAFC, said the welfare of children was their main priority.
