Asantehene salutes out-going minister for good job

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has given thumbs up to the out-going Ashanti Regional Minister for hard work and exemplary leadership, which has helped to bring peace and tremendous progress to the region.

He described Mr. Eric Opoku’s high work rate, selflessness and commitment to duty as simply unique and admirable.

Asanteman, he said, cherished his significant contribution to the improvement of the lives of the people during his two-year watch.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu cited massive rehabilitation of roads, construction of school structures, health facilities, water supply and employable skills training of the youth, to back his assertion.

He said this at a special dinner he hosted for Mr. Opoku at his Manhyia Palace in appreciation of the good job done.

He advised the Minister to continue to work with passion and sense of patriotism to make a difference in the lives of the population.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu presented him with a richly designed “Kente” cloth and a number of gifts.

Mr. Opoku said he was overwhelmed and expressed appreciation to the King, chiefs and people for the understanding, cooperation and support they gave to him.

He said he would always have fond memories of his stay in the region.
