Asante Akim South NPP inaugurates campaign team

Juaso-Ashanti, Aug. 13, GNA – Asante Akim South Constituency of New Patriotic Party (NPP) in its quest to retain the seat in Election 2008 has inaugurated a seven-member campaign team at Juaso-Ashanti. The team led by Mrs Gifty Ohene-Konadu, Member of Parliament has Mr Abdul Karim Boakye-Yiadom, Asante Akim South District Chief Executive as her assistant is tasked to embark on a vigorous campaign to ensure a landslide victory for the Party. Other members were 14 zonal elders, 20 zonal co-ordinators and two financial controllers.

Mrs Ohene-Konadu, addressing the team said, NPP had achieved appreciable success in its seven-year rule and urged Ghanaians to renew its mandate on December 7. She said a change of government would derail the pace of development in the country and called on Ghanaians to rally behind the NPP to ensure sustainable development. Mrs Ohene-Konadu, urged the electorate to take into account development projects that government had executed both within the constituency and national levels when exercising their franchise on December 7.

She commended members of the Party for the prevailing peace in the constituency after the primaries, was a sign of victory for the Party in Election 2008.

Mr Boakye-Yiadom, appealed to members of the team to work in harmony to ensure massive victory for the Party in both the Parliamentary and Presidential elections. He urged them not to be distracted by the propaganda of their political opponents and focus on strategies that would encourage and win more votes for the Party.

Mr Boakye-Yiadom, appealed to the youth to take advantage of government policies to improve on their lives and shun politicians who would offer money to solicit for their votes. 13 Aug. 08
