Asankragwa (W/R), May 31, GNA – The Appellate Judicial Committee of the Western Regional House of Chiefs has resolved a long-standing Chieftaincy dispute between Nana Anyani Buadum 111, chief of Asankrangwa and Mr Asamoah Tannor and others.
Mr Andrew Kwame Appiah, Secretary to the Asankrangwa Divisional Stool, who disclosed to the GNA, said consequently, Nana Buadum had been reinstated on the stool.
Mr Appiah said the Committee ordered Mr Anthony Y. Tabiri, Registrar of the Wasa Amenfi Traditional Council, who was appointed as the Manager/Receiver of Asankrangwa Stool and properties to render accounts, which should be backed with an affidavit from November 4, 2003 to April 15 this year to the Registrar of the Western Regional House of Chiefs within 21 days.
The Secretary to the stool said by virtue of this order, Nana Buadum had been reinstated to his position as the Chief of Asankrangwa. Mr. Appiah said with this development, it was expected that Asankrangwa would once again enjoy trading and commercial boom. In 2000, crises culminating in the shooting to death of Nana Buadum’s relative and a policeman rocked Asankrangwa. Since then, there had been an uneasy calm in the town.
