Apostolic Church-Ghana organises blood donation exercise

Accra, May 24, GNA – The Reverend Christopher Affum-Nyarko, Head of the Nii Boiman District of the Apostolic Church-Ghana has called on Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of donating blood to save lives. He stressed the importance of blood to human life and survival and said ‘Everything possible must be done to feed the blood banks”. Rev. Affum-Nyarko made the call at the church’s blood donation exercise in Accra on Sunday to climax the celebration of ‘the Ascension of Christ’.

The weeklong celebration was under the theme,”Liberating the Saints” Rev. Affum-Nyarko noted that “the blood one donates today could go a long way to save a life and that if you do not benefit yourself, a relative could”. He said the church embarked on a similar exercise seven years ago and would continue doing so since it was the policy of the church as part of its social responsibilities. Rev. Affum-Nyarko advised the youth to refrain from indulging in nefarious activities, including computer fraud, which could mar their future. Earlier, the church undertook a medical screening and evangelism as part of the celebrations. 24 May 09
