APC opens parliamentary nominations

The All People’s Congress (APC) has opened its parliamentary nominations to select candidates to contest the coming election in the various constituencies.

A statement signed by the General Secretary, Mr. Razak Kojo Poku, said the party’s parliamentary aspirants have up to July 8, to file their nominations.

The nomination form could be picked at a non-refundable fee of GHC200.00 at its national headquarters – Haatso-Westlands (West Legon), between 0800 and 1700 hours.

There is however, a special dispensation for the youth and people with disability – they would not pay anything for the forms.

The statement said the filing of the nominations would be followed by the vetting of all prospective candidates on Monday, July 11, at the party’s regional offices.

It stated that every aspiring candidate must satisfy the qualification requirement of the 1992 constitution.

The aspirants should also meet all relevant provisions for election of parliamentary candidates as enshrined in the constitution of the APC.
