Anyaa residents undertake cleanup exercise

The Concerned Citizens Association of Anyaa-NIC, a suburb of Ablekuma Central Municipality, has undertaken eight-hour massive cleanup in the area.

They swept the streets, cleared gutters, rubbish dumps and over-grown bushes.

Mr Kingston Okyere popularly called “OB”; Chairman of the Association in an interview with Ghana News Agency said the exercise was to prevent diseases, especially cholera and malaria in the neighbourhood.

He said the exercise was the Association’s first initiative to create awareness among the people of the outbreak of diseases in the country.

He said the Association with the Motto: “Unity and Development” would in every three months undertake a cleanup to promote good health among the residents.

Mr Okyere urged the people to live in hygienic conditions and always keep their surroundings clean to avoid contracting diseases.
