Ghanaian music promoter Ananzo has finally received the long-awaited $5,000 cash gift from Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido, months after a viral video brought the two into the spotlight.
In a video currently trending on social media, a beaming Ananzo is seen proudly flaunting thick bundles of cash, the Ghana cedi equivalent of the promised amount, presented to him by one of Davido’s associates.
The gift comes as a fulfillment of a public promise Davido made earlier this year, after reposting a video of Ananzo energetically vibing to his track “With You.” In response to the video, Davido had commented, “5K US FOR YOU,” sparking excitement across social media and raising Ananzo’s profile virtually overnight.
However, the weeks that followed saw no money transferred, prompting growing concern among fans. Throughout the wait, Ananzo remained upbeat, sharing in various interviews that the exposure from Davido’s post had already opened professional doors.
“Even if Davido doesn’t give me the $5,000, the exposure alone…” he had said at the time.
Now with the cash finally in hand, Ananzo is full of praise for the Nigerian music icon.
Clutching the money and grinning in front of the camera, he described Davido as “the one and only OBO,” expressing heartfelt gratitude for what he called a life-changing moment.
The gesture has reignited conversations about how major artists can use their influence to uplift grassroots talent across borders, with many applauding Davido for staying true to his word.
The video continues to attract attention across social platforms, with fans celebrating what many have called a “full circle moment” for Ananzo from viral dance enthusiast to financially supported creative.
