Anane Others For Court Over Ghana International Airlines

Ten persons including former Roads and Transport Minister Dr. Anane currently under investigations by the police are to be charged for various offences against the state by Monday.

The ten including other former ministers of state are said to have given caution statements to the police in connection with their roles in the failed Ghana International Limited (GIAL) venture.

It is believed they will face charges ranging from stealing, defrauding the state and causing financial loss to the state.

Difficulties occasioned by the technicalities in serving the legal processes on sitting MPs by the Police caused a delay in the commencement of the prosecution of this case. However it has been confirmed that Dr. Osei Akoto and Dr. Anane have now been formally invited to the Police station for questioning

Consequently Dr. Anane is currently being questioned at the Police headquarters over his role in the failed Ghana International Airlines. One particular allegation against him is that he misled Cabinet into approving a partnership with Ghana International Airlines at a time when Ghana International Airlines did not exist.
