An Ex-Convict Called Amoateng

?? Busted and jailed in the USA for drug-trafficking in the mid 1990s ?? Defended by the same law firm defending heroin-trafficking NPP MP Eric Amoateng

“The Ghana Palaver” Research Team has discovered that in 1995, one Peter Amoateng, a Ghanaian national, was arrested in the USA and charged with drug trafficking, specifically, ?importation of a Schedule I controlled substance?.

He was convicted and sentenced to fifteen (15) months imprisonment with three (3) years supervised release.

A second charge of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance was dismissed on the government?s motion.

Peter Amoateng was defended at his trial by the Law Firm of Hurwitz, Stampur and Roth; the same law firm currently representing Eric Amoateng, the heroin-dealing NPP MP for Nkoranza North.

The docket number for the Peter Amoateng?s case was 1:96cr1112 with related docket number 1:96-m-01660 commerce. The case was tried by Judge David G. Trager and Peter Amoateng was defended by James Michael both of the Law Firm Hurwitz, Stampur and Roth of 299 Broadway, New York, NY 10007 (212) 619-4240 800.

The convicted Peter Amoateng in prison was registered as inmate No. 53211-05 3, aged 42 (at the time of arrest in 1995) of the black race. He was released from prison on December 16, 1997.

Question 1: Whether the Peter Amoateng, then aged 42, the Ghanaian national who was busted in the USA for drug-trafficking and jailed for fifteen (15) months after being defended by the Law Firm of Hurwitz, Stampur and Roth is not different from Eric Amoateng, aged 52, Ghanaian National and NPP MP for Nkoranza North who has been busted in the USA for heroin-trafficking and is currently in prison awaiting trial and is being defended by the Law Firm of Hurwitz, Stampur and Roth?

Question 2: Has Eric Amoateng, the heroin-trafficking NPP MP for Nkoranza North, ever been called ?Peter? in his life?
