Ampem Darkoa Ladies are through to the final of the 2026 WAFU Zone B Women’s Champions League qualifiers after beating Benin’s FC Dynamique 4-1 in Ouagadougou on Wednesday.
The Ghanaian champions maintained their perfect record in Burkina Faso with another dominant display at the August 4 Stadium, moving within one victory of qualification for the 2026/27 CAF Women’s Champions League.
Ampem Darkoa made a fast start and took the lead after 16 minutes. Striker Milot Pokuaa was released by an excellent pass before calmly finishing to put the Techiman-based side in front.
Their control of the match continued, with Rebecca Asemani doubling the advantage in the 28th minute.
FC Dynamique were unable to cope with the pace and attacking quality of their opponents, and Ampem Darkoa extended their lead again 10 minutes before half-time. Gloria Adomako scored to give the Ghanaian side a commanding 3-0 advantage at the interval.
There was no let-up after the restart as Ampem Darkoa continued to push forward. Pokuaa scored her second goal of the game in the 66th minute, completing her brace and effectively settling the contest.
FC Dynamique did manage to find a late consolation goal, but it did not alter the outcome. Ampem Darkoa remained in control to complete a 4-1 victory and book their place in Saturday’s final.
The triumph means the Ghanaian champions have won all four of their matches in the qualifying tournament. They have scored 11 goals during that run and conceded only two.
Their final opponents will be Nigeria’s Edo Queens, with the decisive match scheduled for Saturday, September 5, at the August 4 Stadium. The winners will earn the right to represent WAFU Zone B in the 2026/27 CAF Women’s Champions League.
Ampem Darkoa qualified for the tournament after winning the Ghana Women’s Premier League and have strengthened their position as one of the competition’s leading teams with their performances in Burkina Faso.
Their campaign has been built on consistency, attacking efficiency and a strong defensive record. Against FC Dynamique, they again showed their ability to impose themselves early, make the most of their chances and control the match once they had established a decisive lead.
The result also underlined Pokuaa’s contribution to the team’s progress, with her two goals adding to an already impressive attacking showing from the Ghanaian champions.
Ampem Darkoa now have one final challenge remaining. Victory against Edo Queens on Saturday would secure continental qualification and complete an outstanding campaign in Burkina Faso.
The Ghanaian side will approach the final with confidence, knowing that another disciplined and effective performance would take them into the company of Africa’s leading women’s clubs.
