Nalerigu (NR), April 25, GNA- Hajia Alima Mahama, Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs, has been retained as the National Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Nalerigu Constituency for the December elections.

Hajia Mahama, who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area for the past eight years, was the sole candidate at the primaries held at Nalerigu and was unanimously nominated by all the 103 party delegates.

She expressed her gratitude to the people for showing confidence in her, saying that, her nomination for the third time showed that the party in the constituency was united and urged all party supporters to maintain the unity and peace they had built over the years.

She explained that the current increase in prices of goods was as a result of the high price of oil on the international market and assured the people that the government was doing its best to put things under control.

She said proceeds from the oil and gas that had been recently discovered would be used judiciously to benefit every citizen and asked the people to vote for the NPP so that it would make the oil find beneficial to all.
