Akufo-Addo will be punished if… – Obiri Boahen

The ‘house cleansing’ process within the New Patriotic Party has begun and one challenge the party is ready to rectify is the Akan-tag which has hung around their neck for quite some time now.

Opponents of the NPP have always played the tribal card and labeled the party as an Akan party which looks down upon members from other tribes.

But following the nomination of Mr. Paul Afoko as the new Party Chair, Otiko Djaba as National Women’s Organizer and the likelihood of Nana Akufo Addo retaining Dr. Bawumia as his running mate, Nana Obiri Boahen believes the NPP has demonstrated that they have no ill feelings towards Northerners.

Speaking in an interview with Okay FM, Nana Obiri Boahen stated that, in the unlikely event that Nana Addo decides to drop Dr. Bawumia as his running mate, people like him would openly stand up angrily to oppose that decision.

He added that this could even trigger a further punishment for Nana Addo should he drop the man considered within the NPP as the right choice.
