Akufo-Addo to appoint 50 deputy ministers

President Akufo-Addo will in the coming days announce a list of almost 50 individuals to serve as deputy ministers in his government.

According to StarrFMonline.com sources, the list which has already been prepared, is likely to be released later this week following pressure from within the New Patriotic Party.

StarrFMonline.com sources say the Finance, Energy and Local government ministries will all have three deputies each, assisting the substantive minister.

Prominent among the deputy ministerial appointments is former MTN marketing head George Andah and a former radio host Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah.

The addition will make the Akufo-Addo government the biggest, in terms of size, since the 4th republic.

So far, 46 ministers have been vetted and sworn into office.

The previous NPP government led by former President John Kufuor had 88 ministers while the Mills administration that preceded it had 69 ministerial appointees.

The Mahama administration however had 78 ministerial appointments.
