Akufo-Addo leads delegation to Cuba

Accra, March 29, GNA – Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Minister of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, March 30, leads a 20-member Ghanaian delegation from Accra to Cuba to attend the 13th Session of the Ghana-Cuba Permanent Joint Commission which will be held in Havana from April 2 -7, 2006.

The delegation, which includes Major Courage Quashigah (RTD), Minister of Health and Mr O. B. Amoah, Deputy Minister of Education and Sports, will return on April 9, this year.

According to a statement signed by Mr Amanor Mante, Public Relations Officer of the Foreign Ministry, the Joint Commission, “meets every two years to discuss bilateral co-operation between the two countries.

The discussions will also centre on Cuban Medical Brigade in Ghana, education, tourism agriculture and aquaculture. The other areas of focus will be youth and sports, science technology and environment, the sugar industry, pharmaceuticals and vaccine production, mining and joint ventures in salt production.
