Akufo-Addo didn’t go to New York with 165 officials – Eugene Arhin

The Director of Communications at the office of the President has refuted claims that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was accompanied by 165 persons to attend the 72nd Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

President Akufo Addo on 21st September, 2017 delivered his maiden speech at the 72nd United Nations General Assembly in New York in the United States of America.

The issue of the number of people who accompanied the president to the UN has generated some controversies with critics suggesting that the president conveyed 165 people to New York to deliver the speech.

However, speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Monday, Eugene Arhin, described the allegation as false and urged the general public to treat it as such.

According to him, the General Manager of Citi FM, Samuel Attah Mensah as well as Gabby Otchere Darko among other dignitaries went to the UN general assembly on their own, debunking earlier claims that they were also on the presidential official list.
