Akufo-Addo declares to run for President again

Two-time Presidential Candidate of the main opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo, has decided to run again for president on the ticket of the NPP.

He told teeming supporters and Journalists at his Nima residence in Accra on Thursday that he will give it a third try.

The Former Attorney General said after discussions with his wife and daughters as well as receipt of encouraging messages from party supporters, he decided to run again.

“In spite of the disappointments of the last few years, I cannot ignore these calls,” Nana Akufo-Addo told Supporters.

He said he chose two careers where there’s no retirement age – law and politics, adding that he was fit in all aspects to remain in the hurly burly of frontline politics.

“With great humility therefore, I can announce that when the party opens nominations sometime this year, I shall be ready, God willing to contest for the position of NPP flagbearer”.
