Akufo-Addo bussed crowd for V/R tour – Quashigah

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo “achieved nothing” with the crowd that attended his rally at Anloga, during his tour of the Volta Region, as part of his campaign ahead of the 2016 elections, Keta MP Richard Quashigah has said.

While in the region, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer told supporters: “I am very grateful to all the people I have met for the wonderful welcome that they have given me and my delegation.”

But Mr Quashigah has accused Mr Akufo-Addo of bussing supporters from around the region to gather at the Anloga market to cheer him up.

“If you bus people from all over the Southern Zone from Akatsi, Ketu North, Ketu South, and you bring all of these people to congregate at Anloga Market on a market day, you have achieved nothing,” he said.

According to him, the crowd that attended the rally was coincidental, because they had visited the market to trade and seized the opportunity to have a look at the three-time opposition flagbearer.

“It was a cos90 job. You decided to hold your rally on a market day within the market, what do you expect?” he asked.

“Those who have come to the market want to see what is going on, so, that, for me, is not surprising at all,” Mr Quashigah told Accra-based Citi FM on Monday May 23.
