Akomadan youth plants tress

Akomadan (Ash), May 23, GNA – The youth of Akomadan in the Offinso district at the weekend undertook a tree planting exercise to create wind break to buildings and to beautify the town.

The youth who were mobilised by the Akomadan Youth Association planted ornamental and decorative trees procured from the Department of Parks and Gardens in the town.

Mr Aikins Agyapong, the vice-chairman of the association, said more tree seedlings would be secured for the exercise in future adding the potentials of the young people would be mobilised for development of the town.

He called on individuals both at home and abroad to contribute effectively to the development of the town. Mr Kwadwo Appiah-Kubi Jnr, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Offinso North and member of the association, who took part in the exercise said appealed to the youth to sustain the communal spirit for the progress of the town.
