Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam Assembly imposes one per cent levy on contracts

Ajumako (C/R), May 12, GNA – The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Assembly has imposed one per cent levy on all contracts awarded by the Assembly with immediate effect, as part of efforts to improve its interna= lly generated revenue. The Assembly took the decision at the First Ordinary meeting of the Fourth Session of the Fifth Assembly at Ajumako. A statement issued after the decision, signed by the District Co-ordinating Council and Secretary to the Assembly, and copied to the Gh= ana News Agency at Ajumako, said proceeds from this levy would be paid into i= t Internally Generated Fund (IGF) account. It said a one per cent deduction would be made on all invoice and payment certificates of contracts for services, goods and works which are=

processed for payment by the Assembly. The statement added that by a copy of the statement, all prospective contractors and businesses with the Assembly were informed of the one per=
