Aidoo Found With Gun In A Bar

Weeks after former Defence Minister, Dr. Tony Aidoo’s residence was frisked for an unlicensed gun, THE INDEPENDENT has obtained details of why the police undertook that exercise.

Contrary to the suspicion that Dr. Aidoo’s residence was searched because of certain threatening comments he was alleged to have made on a Tema-based radio station, it has emerged that he rather made the “mistake” of going to a night club, Bywell at Osu, Accra, with a pistol on his body.

One Joe, who saw the pistol on Mr. Aidoo at the bar quietly slipped out and made a report to the police and was promptly requested to make a statement, which eventually led to the police moving to search Dr. Aidoo’s residence where an unlicensed pistol was found.
