Ahmadi Muslim women hold 28th annual conference

Accra, June 7, GNA- The Greater Accra Regional branch of the Ahmadiyya Muslims Women’s Association has organized its 28th annual regional conference with a call on Muslim women to dress according to the tenets of the religion and also uphold the virtue of marriage. “Ahmadi Muslims have been directed by the Koran to dress decently by not exposing any part of the body. Also we must respect our husbands regardless of their financial status. By so doing Allah gets the chance to bless us and our homes”, said Mrs. Sadeeqah Yeboah, National

Assistant Projects Coordinator of the Association. Addressing the women on Sunday, she appealed to the women not to resist when their husbands decide to bring in another wife provided the man was financially sound. She urged them to take good care of their homes and stop the organization of expensive marriage ceremonies and educate their children on the importance of desisting from sexual immorality since it invoked the punishment of God.

Mrs. Yeboah called on parents to educate their children to a higher level and urged the students desist from any act than would taint the image of Ahmadi Muslims. Mrs. Fatima Twumasi, an Executive Member of the Association urged the women to trust in Allah only since He is the only solution to all problems and desist from seeking spiritual assistance from charlatans who were only out to dupe unsuspecting people. She appealed to them to respect their mothers-in-law, be supportive of their husbands and also learn how to spend money wisely so that their business would not collapse. “We should again try as much as possible desist from accusing people falsely and also inculcate in our children the virtues of truthfulness”, she added.

Hajia Sarah Bonsu, Past President of the Association urged the women to always endeavour to do the right thing in order to attract God’s blessings. “The fear of the God must be very have important to all Muslims. It is because we have neglected this fear that is why we are going through so many problems”, she added. Financial contribution to the construction of a mosque at Koforidua and the sponsorship of girls to undertake vocational courses were cited as some of the achievements of the Association. The programme which was interspersed with songs of praises was under the theme; ‘The Oneness of God’ and it attracted about 705 women.
