Agona Swedru to get two new access roads

Traffic congestion in Agona Swedru in the Central Region would soon be a thing of the past when two access roads from the post office to link the Bawjiase road and the Mehodwe/Otabilkrom road are completed.

Mr. Emmanuel Kwesi Lincoln, Agona West Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), at Agona Swedru.

He said the authorities of the Agona Swedru Municipal Assembly were doing everything possible to end traffic congestion in the area.

Mr. Lincoln said the appointment of Mr. Samuel Oppong as the Municipal Chief Executive would strengthen the NDC’s chances of winning the seat from the New Patriotic Party.

He commended the Government for solving problems related to the 2010 floods in the municipality, and cited the rebuilding of bridges, Presbyterian Basic School and the Swedru Sports Stadium.

Mr. Lincoln on behalf of the NDC constituency executives, expressed condolences to the former First Lady, Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills, President John Dramani Mahama and the Government and people of Ghana on the death of President John Evans Atta Mills.

Mr. Lincoln said President Mills’ demise was a big blow not only to the party, but also to the entire country.**
