Agona East NDC executives refute bribery allegation

Agona Asafo (C/R), Aug 22, GNA – Executive members of the Agona East Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have denied allegations of bribery against them.

Mr Samuel Oscar Mensah, Constituency Secretary, told a press conference that it is not true eight of them collected 5,000 Ghana cedis from a female parliamentary aspirant to support her candidature.

He described the allegation as a calculated attempt to throw dust into eyes of party members in the Agona East constituency.

Mr Mensah said no executive member had received the said amount from any of the five aspirants as being peddled in the constituency by some leading members of the party.

Mr Mensah said those peddling the falsehood should stop because it could breed disunity and hatred in the party.
