Agona Duakwa launches 100 million cedis Education Endowment Fund

Agona Duakwa(C/R), Sept. 30, GNA – The Chiefs and people of Agona Duakwa in the Central Region have launched a 100 million-cedi Education Endowment Fund to assist brilliant but needy students in the town to pursue secondary and tertiary education and in addition motivate teachers.

Mr Kobina Fosu, Chairman of Agona Duakwa Akwambo Planning Committee, who disclosed this at a news conference at Agona Duakwa, said this year’s festival was geared towards promotion of education. The theme for the festival is “Education the best legacy for your child”.

Mr Fosu said the theme and objectives of the celebration in to honour the first Chief of Agona Duakwa, Nana Kojo Amoako Boadu, who established the first Government School in the town. He commended Captain K. Acquah(Rtd), Managing Director of Delta Security Company, for sponsoring two students to second cycle institutions every year.
