Kumasi, May 9, GNA-Mr Kwame Appiah Boateng, the 2004 CPP parliamentary candidate for Nyiaeso constituency, has called on Ghanaians and Africans in general to patronise goods produced in their countries to help boost their economies.
He also called for an effective economic dialogue between African countries and the leading world economic powers, to persuade them to soften their harsh impositions, which threatened the economic, social and political stability of the African continent. Mr Boateng in an interview with the GNA in Kumasi at the weekend, said it was high time world economic powers granted African countries favourable business and trade terms instead of aid that often had severe conditions attached.
He said there was the need for a “positive action” to focus world attention on natural and democratic rights of Africans to be free from economic slavery and political bondage and pursue the noble principles of democracy, freedom, liberty and free enterprise. 9 May 05
