African peer review recommendations yet to be fully implemented –Prof Asante

President of the local chapter of the African Peer Review Mechanism governing council (APRM), Prof S.K.B Asante has disclosed that the Ghanaian government is yet to fully implement the recommendations made by his outfit after thorough studies and research of the governance system.
Prof. S.K.B Asante in an exclusive interview with host of PLUZZ TODAY, Pluzz FM’s breakfast show in his office at the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECAID) disclosed that the government of Ghana since year 2003 till now has played immense role in the work of the APRM.
Prof. Asante however disclosed that recommendations such as the election of District Chief Executives have not been implemented. He further disclosed that the APRM governing council also recommended the appointment of majority of ministers from parliament be stopped, because it disturbs the principle of separation of powers.
The governing council also has recommended the separation of the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General, setting up an independent anti-corruption body as well as the implementation of the Savanna Accelerated Development Programme are all part of the recommendations of the governing council
