Africa is plagued with tribalism and religious intolerance – Kufuor

The former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor says Africa is full of divisive tendencies and ethnicity coupled with cruelty towards the vulnerable in society, especially women.

According to him, until African leaders learn to be selfless and prioritize the good of humanity in general, progress will be slow.

President Kufuor told XYZ News that a lot of things require fixing on the African continent.

He added that there can be no compromising on good leadership for the Continent’s development.

“Our continent is plagued with divisiveness; you know tribalism, religious intolerance; sometimes you tend to be high bound by wasteful and useless culture to our women folk.

“Our leaders should learn and live themselves over and above pettiness like that. Once you become a leader of a nation you should know that you are there for all the people of the nation” President Kufuor said.

Former president Kufuor is nurturing a generation of good leaders through his John Kufuor Foundation founded in 2009.
