Afoko, Agyepong still missing at NPP HQ

Beleaguered national chairman of the NPP Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong have still not resumed their duties at the party’s headquarters days after the flagbearer called for a truce in the storm of confusion that has hit the party.

The two, according to sources, have not given reasons for their refusal to stay off their offices at the headquarters.

There are calls for Afoko and Agyepong to resign from their respective positions following the killing of the party’s Upper East regional chairman Adams Mahama by some unknown assailants.

Some party members have accused them of masterminding the acid attack that led to Mr. Mahama’s death.

Already, seven regional branches of the elephant family have passed a vote of no confidence in them. The minority in Parliament has also appealed to them to step aside.

They were ‘banned’ from entering the headquarters by a group of youthful supporters who called themselves ‘Invisible’.

But the leader of the party Nana Akufo-Addo has called for a truce and urged all aggrieved supporters to use appropriate channels to resolve their grievances.

He also directed that the two national executives be allowed into the premises of the headquarters located at Asylum-Down in Accra.
