Afigya-Kwabre Assembly raises GH¢221,186.51 through IGF

Kodie (Ash), Oct. 5, GNA – As at August this year, the Afigya-Kwabre District Assembly has mobilised GH¢122,186.51 through internally generate= d funds (IGF), representing 57 per cent of the GH¢390.000.00 it targeted at the end of the year. Mr Kwaku Oppong-Kyekyeku, District Chief Executive (DCE), made this known when he addressed an ordinary meeting of the assembly at Kodie. He said the performance was encouraging and urged the revenue collectors to intensify the collection of basic and property rates, burial and undeveloped plot fees.

Mr Oppong-Kyekyeku said the assembly had put in place adequate measure= s to improve 93our collection mechanism, broaden the tax base to boost our I= GF to complement what we receive from the Central Government for development= “. Intensive public tax education is also on-going, he added. The DCE said the assembly had embarked on the implementation of a number of projects to help improve the quality of life of the people. These include road works, construction of classrooms and sinking of boreholes. He said construction works are underway on the Pankrono-Junction-Maase road while those of the Maase-Nkukua-Buoho, Tetrem-Abidjan and Boamang- Bedumase are to be re-awarded.
