AESDA appeals for more National Service Personnel

Winneba (C/R), Aug. 8, GNA – The Awutu-Effutu- Senya District Assembly has requested the National Service Secretariat (NSS) to post additional 30 Personnel to the area.

Mr Solomon Kwashie Abbam-Quaye, District Chief Executive, who made the appeal, stated that they would assist in revenue mobilization, data collection and computerization, teaching and other relevant assignments to improve the living conditions of people.

He was speaking at an end-of-year party organised by the District Secretariat of the NSS for Service Personnel who had completed their service.

Mr Abbam-Quaye noted that the Assembly appreciated the excellent contribution of the Personnel to the district over the years and commended the Directors for their good work.

He said measures had been put in place to provide accommodation and other logistics to support the Personnel to facilitate their work and to make their stay in the District interesting.

Alhaji Ishaq Asuru, District Co-ordinating Director, suggested to professionals among them to form co-operative societies to source funds from financial institutions to commence profitable ventures after their service instead of relying on the government for employment. He observed that their yearlong service had provided them with skills and experience, which they could use for their benefit to promote the socio-economic advancement of the nation and to create jobs. Mr Abrose Entsiwah Jnr, District Co-ordinator of the Scheme, praised the government for ensuring the regular payment of the allowances of Service Personnel and expressed the hope that it would continue.

He advised the Personnel to respect and promote law and order and to continue to influence the society positively.
