Address genuine free SHS challenges – Dep. NSS Boss tells NPP

The Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Service Scheme, Nana Boakye popularly known as Nana B has urged the government to address the challenges that has characterized the implementation of the Free Senior High School Policy.

According to him, the concerns are genuine and must not be rubbished with arrogance by members of the ruling New Patriotic Party.

“Governance is very difficult, so we will stumble, we will falter, you will not always get it right, and the Free SHS there are genuine and teething challenges but if Ghanaians are complaining ,you don’t rubbish it in the face like what the NDC used to do…we need to be humble we need to speak well,” he said.

Nana B who is a Communication team member of the ruling government said this on Friday when addressing the Tertiary Students Confederacy of the New Patriotic Party (TESCON) branch at Koforidua Technical University during a handing over ceremony for new executives.

According to Nana B, for the party to retain power in 2020, it is imperative to avoid mistakes committed by the past National Democratic Congress government which displayed arrogance and failed to admit wrongs and rather went about attacking personalities that criticized their government.

He urged the new executives of TESCON to ensure that they satisfy committed party members whenever there are job opportunities in government as done at the National Service Secretariat.

“Make sure you satisfy the committed members, so when your boss says to you there is job opportunities, some National Service Issues to bring some names, please don’t go and bring people from somewhere, make sure these committed TESCON members who are here, who have sacrificed their books to be here, make sure you satisfy them first, it is very very important.”

He added “On National Service issues, you did well, there is no way we will just facilitate it fast for you, didn’t we do it for you this year?.

Nana B urged the youth in the party to have patience for the President and support his government for the success and long stay of the NPP in government will inure to the benefit of youth than the older folks in the party.
