Activities of Delta Force is the beginning of terrorism – Asiedu Nketia

The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia says activities of the vigilante group Delta Force is the beginning of terrorism in Ghana.

He was responding to the attack on the Kumasi Circuit Court on Thursday by some members of the Delta Force where some 13 other members were on trail for attacking Mr. George Adjei the president’s appoint for the position as Regional Security Coordinator.

Mr. Nketia speaking to Rainbow Radio said, the lawlessness and attacks by the various vigilante groups affiliated to the NPP started right after they won the 2016 general elections and yet no one acted.

He said, the Minister of National Security was vilified when he made an attempt to deal with the unlawful seizures and attacks.

He was insulted on radio. The president in his state of eh nation address assured Ghanaians that he will not entertain such lawlessness yet we are still witnessing the worse.

In a barrage of questions he quizzed: why should a vigilante group storm a court and attack a judge presiding over a case? Why should we allow the existence of a vigilante group? Why should we allow a parallel military group? ‘’Ghanaians should prepare because terrorism has started in Ghana.

The situation will be out of hands if we do not deal with it once and for all.’’ Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia described the attack on the Circuit Court as distasteful and grievous than the one staged at the Kumasi Security Coordinating Council. ‘’

The attack on the court by the Delta Force group is grievous than the one staged on the Kumasi Security Coordinating Council.

Are they [suspects] going to be punished? Are we sure they will face the full rigours of the law? If at this stage we are unable to deal with the situation then we should prepare for the worse’’
