Accused Person collapsed on way to court

People who trooped to the Half-Assini Magistrate’s Court in Western Region on Thursday to catch glimpse of Mr. Armo-kwaw were highly disappointed when he never appeared before the court.

The accused, a 47-year-old taxi driver of Half-Assini, collapsed about 15 metres away to the court in the morning and was rushed to Half-Assini Government hospital by the Police where he was treated and discharged later in the day.

Mr. Armo-kwaw allegedly defiled a 13 year old Primary six pupil in Half-Assini, last Monday March 2, 2015.

The accused sent the victim for ‘iced water’ at about 1930 hours on Monday during electricity black-out in the town and on her return lured her to his mother’s compound at about 220 metres away and had sex with her in an uncompleted building.

The victim, who bled profusely in her private part from the act, reported her ordeal to her father who lodged a complaint to the Police.

The accused was arrested and after investigations was arraigned.

The victim was also hospitalised for three days at the Half-Assini Government hospital.
